In Loving Memory of Lenley Ward Paul
Lenley (Lenny), a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 79. Known for his hardworking spirit, love for family, and dedication to his faith, Lenny leaves behind a legacy rich with memories and love.
Lenny was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, where he formed his first friendships and developed a love for baseball and outdoor adventures with friends. Early on, he learned the value of hard work while helping at his father’s gas station, a job that fostered his strong work ethic and dedication to family.
After high school, Lenny joined the U.S. Navy, serving proudly as a radioman and cherishing his time aboard the U.S.S. Lyman K. Swenson. He later began a lifelong career as an electrician, working in steel mills and aluminum smelters across Indiana and Washington. His career spanned decades and led him to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he worked at the Little Goose Dame from which he retired in 2008.
Lenny found joy in the simple things: family gatherings, geocaching adventures, and time spent with his beloved wife, Carol. Together, they built a life in Goldendale, Starbuck and Spokane, Washington. They enjoyed several years in San Tan Valley, Arizona before building their home in Philipsburg, Montana.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, his children, Kathleen Beckmann and Gary Paul, step children with Carol; Mark Lundgren (Jane), Wade Lundgren (Christine), Laurie Stupakis (Steve), Linda Miskho (Michael), Cathy Moczulski, Donelle Lundgren, Shari Royston (Karl) and Kurt Lundgren (Amy), numerous grandchildren, and a community of friends and loved ones who will remember his kindness, resilience, and the love he shared freely.
Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 1100 Sawmill Rd., Philipsburg, MT 59858. Visitation will begin at 10am at the church.
