Kathryn Jeannette Staples

Kathryn Jeannette Wight, 87, was born on November 19, 1928 at the home of her parents Ernest Jefferson Wight and Phyllis Stuart Wight at the Wight ranch near Hall, Montana. She grew up working on the ranch and loving that work. On May 21, 1950, she married Vernon Andrew Staples and they are the parents of five children, Dwaine, (deceased), Kathy Jo (Stephen) Mobley of Hall, MT, Obern (LeeAnn) Staples of Lyons, CO, Tod (Carrie) Staples of Pasadena, TX, and Shawn (Karen) Staples of Pearland, TX. She died on Monday, March 14, 2016 in Philipsburg. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, one son, and one great-grandson. She will be missed by her surviving children, 27 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Philipsburg at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. preceding the service. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at the New Chicago Cemetery.
