Juliette "Julie" Agnes Albert

July 31, 1920 — August 24, 2015

Julie Albert died peacefully at the age of 95 at Marquis Vintage Suites in Butte. In spite of her advanced age her death was unexpected. Julie was the 14th and last surviving sibling of 15 children born to John and Clara Cyr of Frenchtown, MT. She grew up in Frenchtown and graduated from Frenchtown High School as class valedictorian in 1938. Julie and Stanley Albert were married on December 28, 1939 and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary months before he died on July 12, 1990. When they were first married, they worked at Hidden Lake Mine. When the mine closed, they moved into Anaconda where Julie lived until the Spring of 2014 when she moved to the assisted living facility at Marquis. She was very happy there. Julie and Stan enjoyed camping and traveling. She especially liked gardening, bird watching and at one time raised and sold Pomeranian puppies. In her later years, her favorite companion was her cat Bebe. Stan and Julie were very active in the FOE and she was proud to have been inducted into the Eagle's Hall of Fame. After Stan's death, she became very active in the Anaconda Garden Club and was pleased to show her flower gardens to the members when they came to visit. Julie was also a member of the Anaconda Catholic Community. Preceding her in death were her husband of 50 years, Stanley, her parents, and all of her siblings, her daughter Donna and granddaughter Julia Lumsden; her brother Edward Cyr and sister Eva Kuney were also from Anaconda. Surviving relatives include her daughters and sons-in-law of Anaconda, Beverly and Michael Leary and Kathleen and Warren Dodge. Her grandchildren are Mick and Jeni Leary of Boulder, MT; Karen and Dale Reynolds of Butte and Christine and Mike Bleile of Anaconda; Richard and Jeannie Dodge and Donald and Jackie Dodge of Flagstaff, AZ, David and Amanda Dodge of Albuquerque, NM; and Michelle Marshall of Stevensville, MT. Included in her 16 great grandchildren are Zacary Miller of Anaconda and Noah, Dale and Gian Reynolds of Butte. Julie is also survived by five great-great grandchildren as well as many nephews and nieces in Montana, Washington and Colorado. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dougald McCallum at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1st at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda with one hour of visitation prior to the services. Rite of Committal will follow the Mass at New Hill Cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the social center at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorials to Pintler Pets, P.O. Box 1204, Anaconda, MT 59711 or the Activity Dept. at Marquis Vintage Suites, 300 Highland Drive, Butte, MT 59701 or a charity of the donor's choice.
