John Paul Lombardi

John Paul Lombardi, of 604 Hickory Street, passed on September 13, 2025. He left this world peacefully after a nearly 3 year bout with cancer.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret; his son, Charles (Rory); and 3 grandchildren. He and Margaret lived many places in their 53+ years together.

John was born in Brooklyn, NY. He chose to attend Clemson University, the first college graduate in his family. He left with a degree in electrical engineering and a commitment to the USAF. John served 7 years active and 7 in the USAF Reserve, ending as a Major. Civilian work also involved both career and geographical transfers. He and Margaret made these moves together. Their final move came in 2016 when they chose to retire to Anaconda. John loved this community where he continued his life of service. He served on the Airport and Planning Boards; he drove the Red Bus and joined Friends of the Library.

John spent years working tirelessly at the Montana Hotel serving as Treasurer and Operations Manager. Music was a love of his. He played handbells, sang in the Voices of the Pintlers and in the choir at Anaconda Presbyterian Church. There he was a faithful and active member, serving as an Elder and working in the Lunch Bunch program. And he was inspired to become a Gideon-again-to-serve.

Many will remember his warmth and kindness. His family will miss him greatly. They offer their thanks to Pintler Hospice for their patient and kind care.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church in Anaconda, Montana followed by a reception.
