Joan Dulaney

Joan Dulaney, 80, of Anaconda, Montana died peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2016, at her home. Memorial services will be held for Joan on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church on the corner of Oak and Third Street at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Havner will officiate. Joan was the first born to Harold and Hassie Shultz in Whitehall on September 29, 1936. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Boulder Montana in June 1954. Joan married Archie Dulaney September 19, 1954 in Boulder. They raised and nurtured six children. Joan worked many years as an administrative assistant at Warm Springs State Hospital. She later established Joan's Ceramics where she demonstrated many of her creative talents. She held classes and shared her vast knowledge for many years by teaching. She enjoyed quilting and crafted many extraordinary quilts that her family cherishes. She was a lifelong learner who enjoyed a challenge and succeeded at everything she did. Joan was active with the Soroptimist Club of Anaconda and especially enjoyed Saturday Breakfast Club with friends. Archie and Joan enjoyed swimming for many years, making certain their swimming buddies made it to classes with them. Joan challenged herself learning computer skills and got quite good at several computer games. She is survived by her 6 children Ed, Maurge, Darcy (Rich), Jim (Barb), Rene (Tom) and Cenia (Larry). She has 11 grandchildren Derecka (Doug), Kevin, Jennifer (Micheal), Jonna Lynn (Andy), Kimberly (Justin), Rachael (Matthew), Andraea, Dani, Kristen (Nick), Alexandra, and Paige. She has 9 great grandchildren Austin, Kairi, Ashtyn, Xander, Wyatt, Marissa, Karsen, Eila and Stephen and beloved pets Gertrude and Myrtle. She is preceded in death by her husband Archie, brother Hal, and her parents. Memorials are requested to the First United Methodist Church, 208 E. 3rd St., Anaconda, Montana, 59711.
