After a long fight, Jo Ellen Biggers succumbed to cancer on Sunday, November 24, 2019.
Jo was born on July 22, 1948 in Deadwood, SD to Ellen (Markham) and Bill Biggers. They soon moved to Butte where she and her big brother Bill would grow up and always call home.
Jo went to local schools (Kennedy and Butte High) while growing up on a ranch in Browns Gulch and on that farm, she learned to ride and show Champion Arabian Horses. Jo rode her horse Taffy in many 4th of July parades and so many more after Taffy was gone.
She married Sonny Hoskins and had 3 sons, Shawn, Shane and Shannon. After divorcing, Jo met Art Summers and had a son, Shad. Son Brian was a Bi-Centennial surprise and the last of her kids.
She raised her family in Walkerville and was known by all the kids as "Mom" with food and Kool-Aid in hand. In the 80's, she followed her sons to become a champion arm wrestler in her 40's.
Jo loved God, family, her pets, Elvis and pressing the pedal to the metal in her latest "Hot Rod" which she loved to take to car shows. Jo worked many a job, mostly in housekeeping and restaurant work, once serving Andre the Giant one of everything on the menu. Jo was beautiful inside and out. She was always there if ever needed. She will be missed by all who knew here and especially her surviving family, sons Shawn, Shane, Shannon (Lori), Shad (Lisa) and Brian, brother Bill, as well as so many nieces, nephews, grandkids and great grandkids.
No services are planned at this time.
