Jacqueline Frances "Jackie' Malee passed away on April 15, 2018 at her home in Huntington
Beach, California. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Longfellow Finnegan Funeral Home Chapel on November 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Jackie will be laid to rest with her parents in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Anaconda, Montana.
Jacqueline attended schools in Anaconda including St Paul's, St. Peter's and Catholic Central
High School. Following graduation in 1953, she attended St. Mary of the Wasatch College in Salt Lake City, Utah. After deciding on a career in health care, she enrolled in and graduated from O'Connor Hospital School of Nursing in San Jose, California. She worked as a staff nurse for several years before deciding to serve a tour in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. She received a commission with the rank of Ensign and was assigned to the San Diego Naval Base. Following discharge, Jackie who was an avid skier, decided to go to Europe. This decision led her to seek employment as a Department of the Army civilian and was assigned to the Nuremberg, Germany hospital where she stayed for three years. On her return to Anaconda she worked for a short time with the Red Cross and the Anaconda Job Corps. She subsequently worked for the Veterans Administration Hospitals in Salt Lake City, Utah and Long
Beach, California.
Jacqueline is preceded in death by her parents Dr. J. J. and Amelie Malee, four siblings, Maiben "Doodie" (John) Drescher, John "Bud" (Margarette), Sibley Holmes and Thomas "Ike" (Frances).
She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Lou Malee and several nieces and nephews.
There was a Celebration of Life Mass held on June 16, 2018 at the St. Bonaventure Church in Huntington Beach, California.
Memorial donations may be made to the Renovation Fund of St. Peter's Church, 217 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Anaconda, MT 59711.
