Herman Faulkner

Herman Faulkner was born on October 26, 1923, to Connie and Mary (Trigg) Faulkner in Simpson, Illinois. Herman was called by his middle name "Ward", in his earlier years. Herman volunteered for the Army Air Force on January 15, 1942 and he was honorably discharged on February 4, 1946. During the war he was an airplane mechanic and a redistribution clerk. He volunteered for overseas duty, and he attended the Army Air Force Technical Supply School, he was assigned to the 315 Depot Supply Squadron. The Squadron was sent to the China-Burma-India Theater to keep the Burma Road opened until that war was over in 1945. He came to the Anaconda are in November 1965 and was employed by the Anaconda Copper company and retired as a Metallurgical Analyst in 1980. Herman married Mildred "Millie" Rickard on May 21, 1977 in Anaconda. They enjoyed traveling in the Western States and they enjoyed several cruises. Herman was a member of the Anaconda West Valley Fire Department and he retired as the Fire Marshall in 1990. Herman died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Community Nursing Home, Anaconda. Herman is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Of 11 children, 2 died in infancy, he was the last child living. Per his request, no services are planned.
