Helen Theresa Smith

Helen T. Smith, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother died on Sunday, March 22, in the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by her children. She was one week shy of her 87th birthday. Helen was born to James and Alice McGeever on March 29, 1928, the oldest of four children. She married Harold L. Smith on September 6, 1947. Together they raised five children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, mother and father, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Florence and Walter Smith. Helen is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Tom McCarthy of Anaconda, Dr. Kathleen and Michael Donahue of Brockport, New York; daughter Pat Hemphill of Butte; son and daughter-in-law Rev. Walter and Dr. Nancy Smith of Waterbury, Connecticut, and son William and his partner Paul Marchand of San Francisco, California; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and with respect to her wishes, interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Anaconda Pintler Hospice, 218 E. 7th St., Suite A, Anaconda, MT 59711.
