Our beloved George W. McClain, 55, of Philipsburg, Montana passed away on September 25, 2024; after a courageous battle with cancer.
George W. or as his family and friends called him, “Georgie” is survived by the love of his life, Debi, his two sons Joseph(Jasmine) and JayCe McClain, and his absolute joys, his grandchildren Lyza, Kolson, Kylah and Lynken, by his sisters Dee(Scott) Dunkerson and Becky(Jim) Sorenson and his brother Forest McClain. Several aunts, uncles, one great aunt, nephews, nieces, cousins and in laws also survive him though numerous each held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard(Lydia), Harold (Janet), his parents George(Dolores), his sister in law Khandi(Rex) ,his brother in law Mark and his mother in law Maureen.
Georgie was born on March 15, 1969 to Dolores and George McClain of Philipsburg, Montana joining his big sister, Dee. His little sister Becky and brother Forest came along not too long afterward making them a family of 6. Georgie went to school in Philipsburg , graduating in 1988 he then went on to a higher education in which he graduated from the diesel and auto mechanics program, getting certification in both plus he went on to get an associates degree in business. During high school , he met Debi. After 2 years of courtship , they married and had two wonderful boys, Joseph and JayCe , completed a higher education in 4 yrs and settled on the family ranch. Georgie had a love of skiing, learning at an early age, competing in many races in childhood to eventually at the age 15 he went on to be a ski patroller at Discovery for many years all the while working alongside his mother Dolores who was a patroller. Georgie had a love of painting, wood working, reading, leather making, mechanics ,animals, actually anything he set his mind to do. He will always be remembered for helping so many people and making so many lifelong friends with his kind heart and seeing the good in people. To family and friends, Georgie was SIMPLY the BEST.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11;00 a.m , November 2nd , 2024 at the Granite High School in Philipsburg Montana. A potluck luncheon( please bring a favorite dish) that will be served following the service. All are welcome to write down your memories of Georgie in notebooks provided at the luncheon.
