Fred August Bronner passed away from natural causes Monday morning at his apartment at the Waterford Assisted Living Center, he was 84.
Fred was born February 2, 1930 to Fred Bronner Sr. and Sharon Johnson Bronner in Chico, California. He graduated from Chico High School in 1949. During high school he took up magic and practiced and performed magic throughout his life.
Fred began working as an aircraft mechanic at McClelland Air Force Base and moved to Sacramento in 1951. He worked at his job for the Federal Government for over 42 years. In 1973 he met his wife Billie. They married later that year and were together for over 40 years. Fred was a very dedicated caretaker of Billie throughout their life.
In Fred's early days at McClelland he endured several lay-offs due to government cuts. During these times he cultivated his magician's skills and was hired by a traveling show and did many magic shows around Sacramento and the Bay area. Later on he developed his own show and won several awards and was featured in local magazines and newspapers frequently.
Fred and Billie moved to Billie's hometown of Anaconda in 2002 and then to Butte in 2004. He liked living in Montana and talked often about how friendly and welcoming the people in Butte and Anaconda were. He had recently moved to the Big Sky (Waterford) Assisted Living facility and was very happy to be a part of that community.
Fred is survived by his wife Billie Bronner of Butte, step-son Chris and Cheryl Eamon of Anaconda, step-son Tony Eamon of Portland, Oregon, sister-in-law Beaulah Bronner of Sacramento and cousin Jim Culver of Sacramento.
