Fran moved to Montana on October 2, 2024, so that her family could help take care of her. Her family was able to take care of her for one year, to the day, before she passed. Watching her mind deteriorate from Dementia was sad to witness.

Fran was born as Fransis Ruth Carr on February 4, 1940, in the town of Milliken, in Weld County, Colorado USA. Fran was the second child, and first daughter, of Ellen Dorothy Grafton and Edward Dale Carr.

On June 14,1969 Fran married Oscar "Jay" Bonde Jr. in Commerce City, Colorado in the Methodist Church. Together they had a son, Jay. With "Jay," Fran raised two of Jay's children, Tamera and Peggy, from a previous marriage.

Fran married the "love of her life," Edward "Ed" Peter Hansen, in Evergreen, Colorado on November 22, 1986. Ed and Fran moved to Utah where Ed was living. The couple were later sealed in the Salt Lake, Utah Temple, November 22, 1993. She always said, "Ed gave me the best years of my life." With the marriage of Ed, Fran became a stepmother to Ed's 4 children, Erik, Todd, Aaron, and Tim.

Fran and Ed moved to 8586 S. Center Street in Sandy, Utah. Together they turned their home into the "1887 Hansen House Bed and Breakfast Inn". They moved an additional historic home onto the property. Fran decorated both homes using Victorian themed guest rooms. Fran thrived at being an Inn keeper. She loved all her guests, she enjoyed making them special breakfast and nightly tea trays. Ed died June 29, 2012, in his home in Sandy, Utah. Fran talked often of the day she would reunite with Ed in Heaven. We are all at peace knowing that she is with her beloved Ed.

Fran was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on March 10, 1973, in Littleton, Colorado by her brother Donald Carr. She served her Heavenly Father faithfully for 52 years. Her love for her Heavenly Father and Savior was evident through the service she gave others. Fran was called October 31, 2012, to serve a part time, 24-month, service mission giving tours at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, Utah. She took conducting the congregational Hymns each Sunday very seriously. She would read her scriptures daily. Mornings started with daily prayer and the day was not over until nightly prayers were said.

She could not wait for the monthly poetry club meetings. She received a certificate of recognition in a poetry contest. Fran authored many poems. Her favorite room in her home was the library and all her books. She collected teacups, depression glass, and fine China dishes, hosted dinner parties, planned Christmas performances, participating in the parade of trees, and going to garage sales. When she sat still, she would be found reading a book, doing crossword puzzles, or playing Scrabble or Chess.

Fran was a woman of class, pose and etiquette. Proper speaking of the English language was necessary. She was not shy about correcting someone's improper grammar.
