Frankie Irene Fickler passed away at St. James Hospital in Butte, Montana on August 14, 2022. She was born on March 29, 1936 to Nevin and Evelyn (Atwell) Morse in Missoula, Montana. She was raised in Drummond, Montana and graduated from high school in 1954. She furthered her education at Western Montana College in Dillon and earned her teaching certificate in 1956. She was an elementary teacher in Darby, Deer Lodge, and Bozeman.

On June 11, 1960 she married Lawrence Fickler in Deer Lodge. The newlyweds moved to Bozeman where Lawrence completed his degree at Montana State University and Frankie taught at Longfellow Elementary.

In 1962 Frankie and Lawrence moved back to Drummond to raise a family and venture into business by forming Fickler Oil Company. She worked side by side with her husband, children, and co-workers.

Frankie was community minded and supported local events and organizations throughout the years. She was active in the Methodist Church and later in life became a volunteer at the Drummond School Library. She enjoyed following her kids and grandkids in their participation in basketball, football, track and volleyball. She also liked to garden, read, and play the piano. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family and always looked forward to getting together with her many cousins. She was a wonderful Wife, Mom, and Grandma.

In September 2020 Frankie and Lawrence moved into The Springs of Butte. While there she enjoyed participating in a variety of activities and made new friends amongst the residents and staff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Nevin and Evelyn Morse, brother; James Morse, sister-in-law Marilee Morse, and brother-in-law Kenneth Fickler.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; children, Todd (Lesley) Fickler, Tracy Fickler; granddaughters, Paige Fickler and Claire Fickler; nephews, Kyle (Debra) Fickler, and Wade (Bryan) Fickler.

A family graveside service has been held at the Valley Cemetery outside of Drummond. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
