January 19th Frankie smith passed from this life. A woman of great beauty, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, a beloved sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Our hearts are broken to have to say goodbye to a woman who filled our hearts and lives with her unconditional love.
Frankie was born on September 15, 1945 to Frank and Delores Smith. She was raised in Mill Creek with her 5 siblings, Lavonne (Squeakie), Mercedes (Cedy), Dan, Cecelia (cissy) and Kenny.
Frankie married Dick Hauck in 1965 and had two daughters, Tammy and Vicki. Dick and Frankie would later divorce. Later in life Frankie gave birth to another daughter, Lacy. Lacy became her best friend, checking on her daily and making sure she had what she needed. Her daughters meant the world to her and she worked hard to give them all they needed as a single mother.
Frankie worked at the Haufbrau as a waitress for many years. Family and friends would often meet at the Haufbrau and stay for hours. It wasn't just a restaurant it was the place to be and Frankie and her sister Squeakie made it fun!
After a long stay with the Haufbrau, she retired to the Drummond and then Deer Lodge communities. In Deer Lodge, she worked with her brother Dan at his meat shop, Chladek Meats, for several years and was a great employee that was and has been missed.
As a young teen, Frankie was the second born and was 15 years older than her youngest sibling Kenny. Kenny recalls Frankie bringing him with her everywhere she went. He was in awe of her and admits that when he was younger, he believed Frankie was his mother. Such a sweet and loving bond. Her sisters have many sweet memories of sharing and fussing over clothes, shared bedroom's and of her tenacity. As adults, they looked out for one another, made some of the best family dinners together and created memories for their children that will be held sacred. The bond between these sisters is eternal.
Frankie stood out with her beauty and charm. She was nicknamed "Black Diamond" by her brother in law, Luke Newman. This was a good fit as Frankie's beauty and her love for her spruced up '64 Black Pontiac caught everyone's eye. She loved pretty cars and was proud of her '75 Monte Carlo too.
In life, Frankie's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She was even blessed with great grandchildren to love. She would do anything for them and would find a way to help them even when there seemed to be no way at all. The last couple of years she came back to Anaconda to be close with her family and friends. She was blessed to have her sweet friend Sheila to help her around the house and to care for and walk her sweet fur baby Cujo and love on her cat, Kitty. Frankie loved her pets and Sheila helped her spoil them.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Delores Smith, and sadly her daughter Vicki smith, taken from her just 3 weeks before her own passing.
Frankie is survived by her daughter Tammy (Billy) Crncevich, her daughter Lacy Smith, granddaughters Athena (Johnny) Maldonado, Caitlin smith and Jewely (Brandon) Agan. She had 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
