Emily Louise Chinn

Emily Chinn, 90. of Philipsburg, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Granite County Medical Center in Philipsburg. Emily was born on September 7, 1926 to Orsa and Nevada (Gibbs) Kidder in Troy, MT. She received her education in Philipsburg. Emily married Frank Haacke Sr. in Butte. Following their marriage they lived and ranched on the Haacke homestead on Little Trout. They then started to ranch south of Philipsburg. She enjoyed working on the ranch and doing all phases of ranch work and trapping. Emily moved to Salt Lake and lived there for a number of years. She returned to the Philipsburg area in 2004 and continued to make Philipsburg her home until the time of her death. Emily is survived by her son Frank Haacke Jr. of Philipsburg, her daughter Patsy (Haacke) Bahsteter of Philipsburg, 11 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, her sister Della Schafer of Salt Lake and numerous great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her son Waldo Haacke and numerous brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Philipsburg Cemetery. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Chapel in Philipsburg.
