Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Blaskovich

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Blaskovich, 82, Anaconda, died Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Community Hospital of Anaconda. Betty was born on October 18, 1931 in Butte, MT to Roy L. Bray and Mary (Bukovatz) Bray. She went to the Garfield School there until the fifth grade. Her brother Roy was born on July 08, 1936 in Butte, MT as well. The family moved to Vallejo, CA during WWII and returned to Missoula after the war. Betty graduated from Missoula Catholic High School in 1949. She then went to Western Montana College from 1949 to 1951. She taught school in Drummond, MT until her marriage to Bill "Pudge" Blaskovich on June 19, 1954. Betty and Bill had two children, Robert "Bob" Blaskovich and Vicky L. Blaskovich. Betty taught in the Anaconda Catholic Schools at St. Peter's and St. Paul's until the Catholic Schools closed. She later went to work for the State of Montana at Warm Springs State Hospital and Galen for the Department of Institutions. Betty retired early to care for her son who had MS. Her daughter Vicky moved to work in Oregon and her husband Bill retired in 1996. He and Betty spent the next years taking care of their son until his death in 2009. Bill and Betty liked to travel and spent time in England, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Croatia and the U.S. Trips to visit their daughter Vicky were a must. Betty is survived by her husband Bill "Pudge" Blaskovich, daughter Vicky L. Blaskovich, brother-in-law Edward Blaskovich, Mexico, sister-in-law Jeannie Bray, Missoula, nieces Patti, Tym, Barbara, Eveann, Susie, Marilyn, Linda, Dotsie, Carol, Judy, and Jeannie, nephews Bill Blaskovich, Bill Rasor, and Mark and Mike Bray, second sons Tim Bartholomew and Tony Monaco, second daughter Barbara Knapp, and cousin Ray Bukovatz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Bob, and her brother Roy Bray. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Anaconda on Wednesday, January 29th at 11:00 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. The family requests donations to be made to the Anaconda Catholic Community Luncheon Fund, the Food Bank or a charity of the donor's choice.
