Edward Leroy Forwood, 79, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home in Anaconda, Montana, surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born January 12, 1935 to Eric and Myrtle (Jenkin) Forwood in Anaconda, the oldest of three children.
  He grew up in Anaconda and graduated from Anaconda High School in 1952. After graduating, he attended University of Montana and Montana State University. He joined the Army in 1955 and was a member of the "K" Company, 511th Airborne Infantry of the famed 11th Airborne Division "Angels."
  When Ed returned to Anaconda in 1957 he married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Irene (Moses), raised three daughters and began a forty year business and public service career.
  Ed worked as a mason contractor for 20 years, and then started H&R Block. In 1974 he and Thelma purchased the Pad n' Pencil. Ed also volunteered for the Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years; St. Timothy's for over 30 years; and was secretary/treasurer of the Anaconda Country Club for many years. He was a member of the Anaconda Elks B.P.O.E. 239 and the American Legion Post 21.
  Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma; daughters Kathie and Duane Smith of Anaconda, Sandra and Rick Streib of Boulder, MT and Natalie and Kevin Raichl of Bend, OR, and six grandchildren that were his pride and joy; Kramer (JB - Jordan) and Morgan Smith; E.J., Tim and Marissa Streib; and Colton Raichl; sister Ellen and Larry Ford of Spring, TX and brother Bill and Linda Forwood of Missoula, MT; uncle Gil Forwood of Anaconda, MT, nieces, nephews and cousins; Gene, Bob, Frank and many, many life-long friends and of course, Winston his devoted and spoiled dog.
  A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Timothy's Memorial Chapel at Georgetown Lake at 10:30am with the Reverend Billy (Bill Jenkin III) officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family and celebrate Ed's life at Anaconda Country Club immediately following burial services.
  The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Anaconda Music Department, in care of Kim Lorengo, Shriner's Hospital or donor's choice.
