Ed Dallaserra passed away July 6th at his ranch. He was 85.
Ed was born in Butte December 10, 1936, to Antonio and Scolastica Dallaserra. Ed served in the navy for 3 years as a cook. On July 14, 1958, he married Marjorie Softich. She preceded him in death. Together they raised four children: Jan (Ron), Ed (Jody), Don (Laurie), and Julie (Ron). He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren: Deiadra (Daniel), Erin (Brandon), Jason, Dustie, Gina (Colton), Emily (Steven), Ethan (Rachael), and Kira. He also enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren: Blake, Kymber, Alex, Ivy, Destin, Logan, and Davin. Ed was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary (Les), Lena (Carl), and Jim. Brothers-in-law Raoul Diaz, Phil Hockaday, Pete Schonsberg and Bud Softich. He is survived by siblings: Pete (Barb), Rose, Virginia, Theresa, sister-in-law Marcella, brother-in-law Joe (Kay) Softich, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed's passion was ranching. He started his ranching career in Anaconda. Ed and Marj ranched there for 41 years. Ed and Marj later moved to Philipsburg where he continued ranching for the next 22 years (until his passing).
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 15th at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home in Anaconda at 12:30 p.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. His remains will be taken to Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ed's life at The Forge Hotel, 100 Union Ave., Anaconda from 2:30-4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Anaconda Pintler Hospice, Saint Philips Catholic Church in Philipsburg or donor’s choice.
