Edna Saltenberger, age 88, died peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Edna was born in Three Forks, MT, on February 5, 1937, to Ed and Edna Bellach.
Edna graduated from Three Forks High School and went on to become a registered nurse. During nursing school, she met Jack Satlenberger while completing her clinical hours at Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs.
Edna and Jack fell head over heels and were later married on September 27, 1958, in Three Forks. Together they raised their five children and operated Saltenberger Heating in Anaconda, MT. Edna ran the office and worked side by side with Jack every day; however, her passion for nursing never diminished. Once the children were older, she returned to Montana State Hospital as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse until her retirement in 2002. After retirement, Ednas spent countless days with her grandchildren and traveling the world with Jack. As her grandchildren got older, she made sure to never miss a ball game, concert, or a family event. She always asked where each grandchild was, how they were doing, and always wished the best for them. They were her new pride and joy and they constantly put a smile on her face.
Edna spent 67 years with Jack as they were inseparable. Edna especially cherished her time with Jack working on their house and the cabin they built at Georgetown Lake. She took pride in her flowers at both locations. But more than that, spending time at the lake with her family always made the summers extra special.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Edna Bellach; sisters, Helen (Gene) Peterson, and Arietta (Byron) Morse; and brother, Ed Bellach.
Edna is survived by her loving husband, Jack; children, Teri Moore, of Billings, Jack (Lisa) Saltenberger, of Anaconda, Dan (Debbie) Saltenberger, of Anaconda, Jana (Rick) Matlock, of Laramie, WY, and Andy (Carrie) Saltenberger, of Anaconda; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and Sisters, Violet Neiss, and Iva Bellach.
