Denzel "Denny" LeRoy Lemmon
  May 20, 1946 - August 28, 2013
The sun begins to rise over the Pintler-Anaconda Range, casting a warm yellow glow over the valley of my home like a large embrace of a long lost loved one. It rapidly climbs higher and higher into the "Big Sky" extending its affectionate touch further across the Montana earth and into the very hearts of those that live here. Every creature rejoices under its presence. The mountains sing with life and the sun continues on its path reminding us that "I am only here for a moment." "Enjoy my warmth, my radiance while at the same time enjoying your life." Life is but a moment. As our glowing orb passes to the west, its charm shimmers off the reflective Georgetown Lake's surface while a father and son fish and reflect on days past of their togetherness. Fish were caught and released to be enjoyed another day. "This was a great day, I love you son," the father said. "It was a great day, I love you too Dad," was the son's reply. A gratifying memory in the moment of life. As the sun starts to transcend into the West, the Montana sky turns to fire, as the long mountain shadows fall upon the valley... And for some, the very last time.
Life is but a moment. Denzel LeRoy Lemmon's life quietly went with the fleeting sun on August 28, 2013. His moment here with us has touched, warmed and embraced so many individuals more than he will ever know. He will be greatly missed. His firm but caring hand has helped guide our path in life. For that, we are very grateful.
Denny, age 67, was born on May 20, 1946, in Anaconda, Montana. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and for this we salute him once again. Even though he had a rough life, Denny was determined of make the best of it and enjoy every moment. He very much found the surrounding Anaconda area his outlet from the inner turmoil's of life through the enrichment of hunting and fishing. He absolutely loved sharing these moments under Montana's blue skies with those he loved dearly. He was fond of carpentry and was a carpenter for many years. He was also fascinated with locks and their internal workings. This fascination led him to become a locksmith. He truly loved working with his hands. His enjoyment of working with his hands will now guide others in spirit.
Denny was married to Patricia Ann Lemmon (Ficklin.) In spirit to my Patty, "Te Amo." Denny is also survived by three of his four children, Dave, Onnie, and Chris; 10 stepchildren, Ree, Mike, Mark, Bill, Jerry, Lee, Chickie, Joe, Ron and Tim; 49 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and his brother Clarence (Butch) J. Lemmon, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents John and Jesse Lemmon, his beloved daughter Lynee, and his granddaughter Baylee.
Denny will be greatly missed by all of his family members and those who took time to get to know him. Life is but a moment. Memories are but forever being shared amongst family and friends. The sun may have set for the last time for Denny, but his memory will be forever in the hearts of many and will always be shining down upon us.
