DeeAnn I. (Hekkel) Hubert

Our sweet “Dolly” earned her wings, rid her braces and walker, and soared with the angels on Saturday, May 4, 2024.  She was so welcomed into Heaven by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Mom, Dad, and Tom!

DeeAnn Irene was born on July 16, 1958, in Anaconda, MT., the second of seven children born to William R. and Evelyn Hekkel.   DeeAnn attended Catholic schools in Anaconda until they closed and graduated from Anaconda High School in 1976.  DeeAnn had a long career at Buttrey Foods in Anaconda and was a manager at Town Pump.

“Dolly”, how she affectionately became known to most who loved her, met the love of her life, Francis “Frito Frank” Hubert in 1994 and they married in 1996.  After retirement, Dolly and Frank moved to Billings, MT where Frankie could golf year-round and DeeAnn could rekindle her friendship with her Dear Aunt Jean (Hekkel)!

Dolly was afflicted with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease, a hereditary, neuro-muscular disease.  When the disease had advanced, Dolly and Frank moved back to Anaconda to be closer to family and friends.

Dolly was truly the sweetest person!  Although she suffered from CMT most of her adult life, she maintained her keen wit and sense of humor!  Always thinking of others, Dolly so appreciated everyone’s helping hand and let us all know how much she appreciated and loved all of us!

Dolly was known for her meticulous housekeeping and decorating skills, delicious, frosted sugar cookies, sharp sense of fashion and love for shopping!  But most of all, Dolly will be remembered for her kindness, perseverance, strength and loyalty to her family and friends.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother, Tom Hekkel and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dolly is survived by her loving husband, Frankie, stepsons Michael and Haggin Hubert, sisters Carol (Terry) Mickey, Sheila (Ron) Verlanic, Nancy (Kyle) Moquist, Janet (Kevin) Fuller, brother John (Stephanie) Hekkel, lots of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, brothers in law, Joe Hubert and Tom (Dale) Hubert, and special friends Kathy and Jerry Miller and Cindy and Joe McCarthy.

The Hekkel and Hubert families would like to thank the Community Hospital of Anaconda, Dr. Nate Cook, Cindy Reed, FNP, the ICU nurses and the Physical Therapy Department.  The kindness you have shown to DeeAnn through the years is so appreciated!  Thank you for your compassion, patience, and love.

Memorials in DeeAnn’s name are suggested to the Anaconda Catholic Community or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Dolly, we will miss you more than words can say!  You will never be forgotten!

Please join us for a Funeral Mass for Dolly on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Anaconda, MT.  A one-hour visitation will take place prior to the mass, starting at 9:30 a.m. If you are running late, it’s okay…Dolly will understand! Following the celebration of life there will be a graveside service held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, W. 5th St., Anaconda, MT. A luncheon will follow in the Hunthausen Center of Holy Family Catholic Church.
