Darrell Wayne Pilant left this earth on June 14, 2024 at Georgetown Lake in Montana.
The pain of this loss is overwhelming for his family and friends.
Many know that Darrell was a passionate and a fierce KC Chiefs, Royals and Kansas Jayhawks fan. He was a friend to everyone he met. He made an impact on everyone who knew him. Having friendships that have lasted decades.
Darrell graduated in 1993 from the Merchant Marine Academy. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel USMMA.
He loved Jimmy Buffet and was a diehard Parrot-head for over 30 years. He attended as many concerts as he could. His last post on LinkedIn was a Jimmy Buffet song title, “Boat Drinks”.
He spent 23 years in an accomplished career with Harrahs/Caesars Entertainment.
In 2012 he met his wife, Jenna and our forever bachelor had found his one and only! They spent 11 CrAzY/beautiful years together.
2015 they eloped and started their journey as husband and wife. They bought a house, were the best parents to their four furry pups, and lived the most colorful life.
When 2020 came, it was a difficult time for everyone, but for Darrell, it was especially challenging. He lost his why and his long time casino career due to Covid politics. His wife Jenna and friends tried their best to help him during this time, but ultimately, his mental health took its toll not only on his career and marriage but his life.
Through it all, your unwavering support has been a source of strength.
Thank you for embracing Darrell and celebrating Jenna & Darrell’s joys, and offering understanding as we navigate these difficult times. Thank you for loving him at his best and now for loving Jenna and his family at their worst.
Like we know many of you did, we loved him fiercely, and Jenna would cherish any memories you’d like to share.
