Danielle Michelle Hess-Erickson

February 24, 1989 — June 18, 2017

Danielle Erickson, 28, passed away on June 18, 2017 among family and friends. Dani was born February 24, 1989, in South Korea, and officially joined the Hess family on August 3, 1989. Early on in life she showed herself to be an energetic, adventure-loving soul who loved animals, probably more than people. She asked for a pony at age 7, and was given Lance, a gentle horse who remained with the family for years. Danielle, a 2007 graduate of Anaconda High School, enjoyed cheerleading, playing the cello, and finding pursuits which stressed out her parents. While in school she worked part-time at the First Quarter Restaurant, and later worked summers at Old Works Golf course. Dani obtained her Associate of Applied Science in Business Technology from Montana Tech in 2010 with the goal to work in a profession where she could help people; she worked for Montana Orthopedics, Summit Surgery, and most recently for Copper City Physical Therapy where she could wear cute clothes and type all day. She married her soulmate, Zach Erickson, on August 20, 2016 after ten years of sharing their lives together. The couple happily welcomed their daughter, Yara Rose, on January 5th, 2017. Dani was an amazing new mother, she spent a lot of time with her new daughter and was really enjoying being a mom. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Matthew Strizich; Bob Hess; Rae Jean and Don Peterson; and her mother, Lori Strizich Hess. Dani is survived by her husband Zach; daughter Yara; father Dan Hess; sister Gayla Hess; grandmother Carol Strizich; lifelong friend Molly Chambers; mother-in-law Cheryl Erickson; uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved; and by her beloved companions Betty, Pickles, and Tibs. Danielle had a warm generous heart and a big personality. She chose to work in positions where she could help others, and she could always be depended upon by those she loved. The way she would light up when she saw someone she cared for, the big smile on her face, and the way she always would let you know what she felt without a filter is something we will always smile and look back on as we remember her. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up for Dani and Zach's daughter and donations may be made at First Montana Bank for Yara Erickson. A celebration of life service will be held at the Holy Family Church in Anaconda on Wednesday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m.
