Dale John Cobban

June 6, 1949 — February 13, 2014

Dale John Cobban, 64, died in Anaconda on Thursday, February 13, 2014. He was born June 6, 1949 in Williston, North Dakota to Gerald and Blanche (Rasmussen) Cobban. Dale grew up in and around Montana and graduated from Granite County High School in Philipsburg in 1967. He joined the US Navy and served in Vietnam and the Philippines before receiving an honorable discharge in 1970. He married Diana Sue Evans on February 7, 1970 in Philipsburg. Dale worked as a diamond bit driller for hard rock mining for Boyles Brothers Drilling, working in Idaho, Washington and Montana. He later drove for Gray Rock Trucking until retirement. Dale enjoyed working as a back yard mechanic and in earlier days hunting and fishing. He was a WWE wrestling fan and will always be remembered for making quick and lasting friendships. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. He was a loving and gentle grandfather to his grandchildren. Dale is survived by his wife Sue Cobban, his sons; Jeremy and Henry Cobban, his daughter Dana (Michael) Moreno all of Anaconda as well as three sisters and one brother. His grandchildren; Kayne, Riley and Chayse Cobban, Mariah Cobban and Michael Moreno. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and by his infant son Dale Jr. Memorial services will be held at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home.
