Connor Lee Mccaul

June 22, 1995 — April 7, 2020

Connor Lee McCaul, aka "Wheez," 24, of Butte, MT, left this life much too soon on April 7th, 2020. He was born in Butte, MT, on June 22nd, 1995, to Dan McCaul of Bozeman and Cheri Bessonen of Butte. Connor, from a very young age, was always drawn and connected to the outdoors. Growing up in the Highland Mountains made it easy for Connor to do all of his favorite things right out of his back door. Riding his motorbike, hiking, picnics, and exploring his surroundings were just a few of Connor's favorite past times. Connor attended Butte schools, graduating from Butte High School, and was currently studying for a mechanical engineering degree at Montana Tech. Connor loved reading books about science and studying space. Often times you could catch Connor watching episodes of Family Guy or the Simpsons, which exuded through his sense of humor to all who knew him. Connors' circle was small, yet very special to him. Home and family meant the world to him. He loved nothing more than standing around a bonfire with the people he loved most, laughing, connecting, and enjoying his favorite picnic foods, all while enjoying a nice cigar with his brother. Anyone who was in his presence felt his kind energy and infectious smile. He had a unique and witty way with words that would make you feel his kind presence, make you laugh, and feel that he was always happy to see you. "Hey, Girl," was his unique way of saying hello to his niece Mercedes, whom he adored and held very close to his heart. Connor was always a gentleman when dining out with family or friends, stating, "I got this," as he pulled out his Costco card to pay the bill, he was the only one who could make that funny every single time. Connor also grew to be a huge "foodie," a phone call to his mom, every day after school, to ask "what's for dinner" was his daily routine for years. Breakfast was life to Connor, so much so, that he was encouraged by his family to get a sausage and egg tattoo to represent his love of food. One of Connors' fondest moments was the adoption of his "Good Boy," Griff, if ever there was a dog that mirrored his owners' personality, it was Griffey. The two were always smiling and happy to see you. Griffey and Connor both treasured their walks and exploring together. Griffey could do no wrong in Connors' eyes, stating, "Griffers would never do that." Connor is survived by his parents, Dan and Cheri of Butte, his brother and best friend, Coleton McCaul, (future) sister-in-law, Alyssa Ness, niece Mercedes McCaul, Grandparents, Dan and Marie Davis of Salmon Idaho, aunts, Staci Goodrich, Mary West, and Debbie Kotan, and several cousins whom he shared special times with, in his younger years. Connor is also survived by his childhood friends, whose friendships he cherished, Jared Mihelich, Anthony Carroll, and long-time girlfriend, Kaytlin Porter. Connor is preceded in death by Frank Bessonen, grandfather, Chuck, and Doris McCaul, grandparents. Our world will never be the same without you in it, "Wheez." Your smile and essence will live in our hearts forever. Each picnic, holiday, and family gathering, we know, in some way, you'll be there with us. "You're such a Good Boy!"
