Charlotte Jean Kuffner

March 24, 1928 — March 31, 2018

Charlotte Jean (Murray) Kuffner was born March 24, 1928 in Butte, MT to Murdock and Charlotte (Bock) Murray. She was the fifth child born of this union. Charlotte was educated in Butte schools, graduating from Butte High School in 1946. Following graduation, she attended Western MT College of Education in Dillon for one year. Choosing not to pursue an educational degree, she transferred to Carroll College for the nursing program and graduated in 1950. She worked in various nursing positions for forty years until her retirement in 1988. Her hobbies included needlecraft, skiing, golfing, traveling with her husband and gardening. She was married August 25, 1951 to Joseph Kuffner. They were married for 60 plus years and two sons were born of this marriage, Stephen Joseph (Mary Lou) and Michael James (Victoria). She was a member of the ACC, American Nurses Association, and Daughters of Isabella and actively involved prior to her illness. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son Michael, Sisters Mae Scollard, Jean Alice Murray, Hazel Catherine Murray. Survivors include Sister Dollie Gilbert, Helena. Son Stephen (Mary Lou) Kuffner, our Alaska family, Cindy, Roger, Alexis, Gabrielle, and Jaiden Gibson, Dean, Alayna, Alivia and Trevor Johnson. Daughter in law Vicki Kuffner. Granddaughter Katherine Kuffner (Josh Mestas) Missoula, great granddaughter Bry Mestas and great grandson Landon Mestas. Grandson Cory Kuffner. Her neighbor and best friend Cathy Orino, neighbor Scott Swan, many other caring friends, loving nieces, nephews and family too numerous to list. A memorial will be held June 19, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda, MT at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101, Anaconda Pintler Hospice, 118 E. 7th St., Ste. 1A, Anaconda, MT 59711 and Shriners Hospitals for Children, PO Box 2472, Spokane, WA, 99210.
