Charles "Chuck" Brugman

November 17, 1928 — September 21, 2014

Chuck was born November 17, 1928, to Ed and Francis Brugman in Des Moines Iowa. He was the fourth of five children and educated in Des Moines and Los Angles California. He first came to Anaconda July 4th, 1946. He worked for Clover Leaf Creamery for two years and then went to work in the Power House Department at the Anaconda Smelter in May of 1948. He retired as a foreman, in June of 1982. After retirement he and his wife Mert traveled for two years, visiting 45 States before returning to work as the supervisor of Heat, Light and Power, at Lake Yellowstone Hotel for ten summers. They enjoyed the winters as "Snowbirds" down South. Chuck and Myrtle (Thompson) Brugman were married, October 11, 1949. He was blessed with two sons, Darrell (Laurie) and Duane (Maryanne), five grandchildren: Leanna (Tyler) Bentley, Keith (Deb) Brugman, Amanda (Shawn) Nye, Amy (Dan) Boawn and Chad (Jennifer) Brugman and nine great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Richard of Two Rivers Wisconsin. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, brother Albert, sisters, Bert and Betty and brother-in-law, Bruce Thompson. Chuck will be remembered as a fun loving traveling man. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and was a member of BPOE #239 Anaconda and the Anaconda Country Club. Chuck died on Monday, September 21, 2014 at the Community Nursing Home of Anaconda surrounded by his loving family. Celebration of Life Services will be on Saturday, September 27, 2014 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, corner of Oak and Third, Anaconda. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services. Donations may be made to the United Methodist Church in Anaconda or the Shriners Hospital for Children, PO Box 2472, Spokane, WA 99210-2472. From a Son's Point of View: I could have not picked a better father. He was the greatest mentor and role model that any child or adult could ask for, someone that always put family first. If I can be half the father to my family, that he was, I would be happy. I will always love you and miss you. Till we meet again - Thanks.
