Carol Marie Parsons

Carol Parsons, 82, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017, peacefully with her loving family by her side. She was born Carol Marie Nelson on October 24, 1934 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Carol grew up on the family ranch and was the youngest of three children. She had many fond memories of her childhood with her siblings and cousins while playing on the ranch. She met Bob Parsons, the love of her life, while living in Aberdeen and they were married on July 2, 1954. From this marriage, they were blessed with four beautiful sons. In the year of 1955, they left Aberdeen and moved to Anaconda where Bob went to work on the smelter. They settled in Anaconda and raised their four children there. Carol went to work for the Anaconda JC Penny in the year 1974. She loved working for JC Penny and met many dear friends throughout her years working there. In 1980, Carol was transferred to the Butte JC Penny due to the Anaconda store closing. She had retired from JC Penny in the year of 1996. After her retirement, she spent her time with family and friends and always looked forward to her outing, shopping day, and especially the birthday lunch dates with her many close friends. She cherished all of her family and loved going to her great grandchildren's events. Carol was preceded in death by her spouse Bob, her parents, her two brothers, her two sons Perry Parsons and Russell Parsons and her special friend Ed Schafer. Carol is survived by her sons John (Leila) Parsons of Anaconda, Jud (Cheryl) Parsons of South Dakota, her grandchildren Tom (Angie) Sawyer of Anaconda, Ron (Kellie) Sawyer of Butte, Mara Hansen, Jessica Gimbel, R.J., Roger and Buster Parsons, all of South Dakota; her great grandchildren Braedon and Tommy Sawyer of Anaconda and Jacob and Zach Sawyer of Butte. Carol was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Pintler Pets, PO Box 1204, Anaconda, MT 59711 or a charity of the donor's choice.
