Carney Francis Rustad passed away at home on June 22, 2018 surrounded by his family following a long illness. Carney was born on May 9, 1944 in Anaconda, MT to Carney and Francis Rustad. Carney resided in Anaconda. He was a US Marine, serving in Vietnam, and is a member of the IBEW. A man of few words, but one who was always blazing the trail on the four wheelers or helping others. He lived life to the fullest with some of his fondest memories spending time with his family, hiking and fishing, four wheeling with his riding buddies, gardening, sitting around the backyard fire and stopping in at the Ranch or Club Moderne.
He leaves behind his children Brenda (Billy) Phillips and Ashlyn, Ameya and Aubrie of Missoula; Carri (Brent) Lockhart and Noah, Haggin, Eli and Landri of Fulshear, TX; William (Lori) Rustad and Tamra and Kaymen of Tampa, FL; and the love of his life, Raelene Gress and her children Julie Gress and Steep, Dray, Tage, and Daryka of Anaconda; Mike (Tina) Gress and Jerad, Brayden, Kyle and Maleah of Anaconda and Joe Gress of Salt Lake City, UT. He also leaves behind one brother Norman (Joan) Rustad of Anaconda and one sister Carol Grubich of Concord, CA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene and Leonard Rustad, sister Joyce Johnson, infant daughter, Donna Marie and Carol A. Rustad, mother to his children.
There will be no services held, per Carney's request.
