February 28, 1936 — April 6, 2017

Benny "Ben" Frederick Bucholz passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2017. Ben was born February 28th, 1936 in Anaconda, Montana to Benjamin Bucholz and Emily (Ulstad) Bucholz. He was raised in Anaconda with his 3 younger sisters and enjoyed family time with Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Ben graduated from Anaconda Senior High School in 1954 and served in the United States Navy from January 1955 to January 1957. He was deployed to the Western Pacific on the destroyer USS Trathen and visited numerous places including Japan, Taiwan and Hawaii. When Ben returned from the service he met the love of his life, Connie (Sbragia) Bucholz. Ben and Connie were married on May 25, 1963 and were the devoted parents of 4 children. Ben was a great provider for his family. He worked at the Anaconda Smelter, Berkley Pit, Lost River Mining - Tin City Alaska, and owner of Bucholz Construction. Ben had many talents and hobbies: he was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, camper, hiker, and loved motor vehicles including his 49' Dodge, Jeep "Teddy", Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and Four-Wheeler. He enjoyed the outdoors as much as he possibly could with his family and friends. There were several gatherings at the family home with many memories. Ben led by example and thought it was important to serve his God, Country, Community, and Family. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Connie Bucholz; their children Ben (Melissa) Bucholz of Queen Creek, Arizona; Carolyn (Lloyd) Dunn of Nampa, Idaho; Sandra (Ken) Walund of Anaconda, Montana; and Monty (Keri) Bucholz of Bozeman, MT; eleven grandchildren, Steven, Chantel, Tanner, Aubree, Cydney, Kjersti, Hunter, Brett, Soraya, Brea, Gavin; seven great grandchildren, Parker, Paisley, Jaxon, Michelle, RayLynn, Asher, and Rhett. Ben is also survived by his sisters, Shirley (Jim) Pettigrew, Evelyn (Bob) Brockman, Marlene (Bill) McCleskey; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The funeral for Ben will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Anaconda. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with funeral services at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 15th, 2017.
