Arthur Ronald Campbell Jr. passed away on June 1, 2013 in Tucson, Arizona, of natural causes. Art was born to Arthur and Kathryn (McPhail) Campbell in Anaconda, Montana on March 6, 1923, where he grew up and worked for Anaconda Copper Mining Company as heavy equipment operator. After serving in France during World War II Art returned to Anaconda to continue his employment with the ACM Company. Art met and married Ann Boryan Walter in July 1948. Art is preceded in death by his parent Kate and Art, wife of 50 years - Ann, daughter Vickie Campbell and siblings Lloyd Campbell, Francie Simpkins, Dick Campbell, and Shirley Moses. Art is survived by daughters Clydie Costa, Nevada, Rhonda Polston (Jim), Arizona, sons Michael Campbell, Washington, Robert Campbell (Alea Bieto), Montana, Bruce Campbell (Jackie), Oregon, sisters Kay Gehert, Montana, Joanie Laslovich, California, Donna Cottrell, (Nick) Wyoming, Patty Campbell, California, brothers Jack Campbell (Barbara), Montana, Larry Campbell (Lou), Arizona. Art has twelve - grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great -great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Art was a family man, avid fisherman, hunter, camper, and bowler. He enjoyed gardening, running, and did long distance runs. Art and Ann were very active in the VFW for many years, holding positions in offices. Art and Ann enjoyed many road trips visiting family and friends in the USA. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Anaconda American Legion Post #21 and the Montana Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missoula Children's Theater, 200 N. Adams St., Missoula, MT 59802 or a charity of the donor's choice.
