Anne was born on May 13, 1938 in Cary, North Carolina to Lemuel and Bertha Dowdy. She was raised and educated in Cary and went on to earn a degree in industrial engineering, working in that field and also in medical transcription and secretarial work.
She moved out to Philipsburg and married Loren Luthje. She started the food bank in Philipsburg and she became a member of the Red Hats in Philipsburg, she enjoyed socializing, square dancing and had many of friends. Anne wrote a book about the hard, happy and sad times of the homesteaders up on the Upper Willow Creek area.
Anne, died on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Granite County Medical Center, Philpsburg.
Anne is survived by her husband Loren of Philipsburg, MT; son, Michael (Christy) Ferraro of North Carolina; daughter, Andrea (Jim) Kelly, Missoula, MT; step-son,
Tim Luthje, Philipsburg, MT; step-daughter, Lori (Jim) Ruch, Helena, MT; and grandchildren, Michael, Joby, Amber, Hans, Katlyn, Luke, great-granddaughter, Madison.
Anne will be missed by all.
