Albert “Al” Lawrence Huston, 80, of Deer Lodge, Montana, passed away on July 4, 2026, at Deer Lodge Medical Center, surrounded by his wife, Luella and son, Brett.

Albert was born on February 2, 1946, in Kalispell, Montana, to Robert Lawrence Huston and Leta Ruth (Shiflett) Huston. Albert served in the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1965 to 1969.

On January 15, 1968, Albert married Luella in Libby, Montana. Together, they shared 58 years of marriage and built a life centered around family, friendship, and many cherished memories.

Albert worked as a truck driver throughout his career. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, camping, and spending time in his shop. Above all, Albert treasured the time he spent with his family and the countless friends who became like family to him.

Albert is survived by his wife, Luella Huston of Deer Lodge; his children, Trent Huston and his wife, Brenda, of Hamilton, Montana, Ron Huston and his girlfriend, Nancy, of Alberton, Montana, and Brett Huston of Deer Lodge; his sister, Carol Sharp and her husband, Jim, of Hot Springs, Montana; and his brother, John Huston and his wife, Pam, of Havre, Montana.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric Shypkowski and his wife, Brittney, Levi Shyplowski and his wife, Ashlee, Luke Shypkowski and his wife, Jorden, Shoni Colyer and her husband, Ross, Tavis Huston, Chelena Huston and her husband, Terran, Cameron Huston, and Kyla Huston; 13 great-grandchildren; his uncle, Marion Huston and his wife, Janet, of Minot, North Dakota; his brother-in-law, Larry Marchant; sisters-in-law, Dixie White and her husband, Victor, sister-in-laws Linda Gordon, and Laura Johns; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were like family.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Allen and Joe Huston; and his sister, Judy Huston.

A celebration of Albert’s life will be held on July 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at J.C. Park in Deer Lodge. In keeping with Albert’s spirit, the gathering will be potluck-style. Family and friends are invited to bring a favorite dish, beverage of choice, and a chair as they come together to share memories and celebrate a life well lived.
