Tom Lovell Obituary
Tom passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 24, 2015.
Tom was born in Anaconda, Montana, on February 16, 1948, to Lewis "Louie" and Helen (Grachan) Lovell. The second of ten children, he was raised there and graduated from Anaconda Central in 1966. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1968, serving one year in Vietnam.
In 1971, he married Carol Pahut, the love of his life, and together they raised two children. Tom worked for the Anaconda Smelter and The Anaconda Service Station.
To continue his welding career at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Tom and Carol relocated to Port Orchard, Washington, in 1983; he retired in 2011. Humorous and active, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren play sports, hunting, fishing, golfing, and vacationing at Putt's Palace at Georgetown Lake.
Tom is survived by his mom Helen Lovell of Anaconda; his wife Carol; daughter Stephanie (Ken) Hynek; son Steve (Carrie) Lovell; grandchildren: Tiffany and Kindra Hawkinson; Bri (Darren) Slater, Chrystal and Kelsie Hynek; and Riley and Connor Lovell, all of Port Orchard, WA; his siblings: Doris Malone; Ben (Linda) Lovell; Bob Lovell; Mariann Matosich; Helen (Tim) McKeon; Connie (Ken) Vieth; Judy (Larry) Williams; Jeannie (Dan) Reardon; and brothers- and sisters-in law: Patti (Bill) Sullivan; John (Mary Jo) Pahut; Larry (Betsy) Pahut; Tom (Kathy) Pahut; and Joanne (Bill) Vincent, including numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom is preceded in death by his dad; sister Betty Lou Andrews; sister-in-law Sally Lovell; brothers-in-law Bill Malone, Bob Bizjak, and Tom Matosich; father and mother-in-law Paul and Patsy Pahut, Nephew Mark Andrews, Great Nephew Nate Logan, Great Niece Sarah Null.
Requiem mass will take place Monday, October 5, 2015, at Holy Family Church, Anaconda, MT, at 10:30 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. A Celebration of Life in Port Orchard for Tom is forthcoming.
