Robert Coleman Laughlin- 77
Our hearts were broken on December 5, 2014 when our much-loved husband, father, and grandfather unexpectedly but peacefully passed away.
Bob was born in Anaconda, Montana November 25, 1937, to Coleman ("Coley") and Irma (Bisch) Laughlin.
Bob was raised in Anaconda and graduated from Anaconda Central High School in 1955. He continued his education by attending Montana Tech, "The School of Mines." During his freshman year he met the love of his life Margaret Marie Pochervina. They wed September 19, 1959.
Bob chose to further his education at Montana State University and graduated with his degrees in Chemistry and Secondary Education, in 1962.
Bob and Margaret together raised their three children and made Anaconda home.
In his early years, he was a great student athlete excelling in both baseball and bowling where he was proud to be selected into the city and state bowling hall of fame.
His athletic abilities lead him to coaching Little League baseball and Legion Baseball for many years.
Bob was a chemist for the Anaconda Company at the Concentrator for over 25 years in Butte, taught with the Anaconda School District for over 35 years, and also taught at RYO in Galen, Montana.
Dad's love of teaching children led him to selling tickets and announcing the hometown football games for the past 40 years. The gymnasiums and stadiums of Anaconda will forever resonate with his unforgettable voice.
He touched many peoples' lives and was extremely proud of his students who excelled in their own personal careers.
Dad also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Coleman and Irma Laughlin, his youngest son Donald Laughlin, his in-laws Louis and Katherine Pochervina, and brother in law Louis (Porchie) Pochervina.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Margaret, his children who he was so proud of Robin (Jim) Mantell and John Laughlin. His three beautiful granddaughters who were his greatest joy; Randi Smith, Kailee (Kevin Fabatz) Smith, and Alison Mantell and his two great-grandchildren who he loved so dearly, Cayden and Sophia.
He will be sadly missed by his most faithful companion, Scruffy.
Bob is also survived by his two sisters-in-law Kathy Pochervina and Mary Jo Riley. Nieces and nephews: Debbie (Craig) Burns, Vickie (Tom) Petritz, Michael (Maria) Pochervina, and Dave (Maryann) Pochervina.
Love you to the moon and back, Papa...
