Miguel "Mike" Lujan, 96, of Anaconda, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Community Hospital of Anaconda surrounded by his family and friends.
Mike was born on November 9, 1920 in Herandes, New Mexico to Rudolf and Mary (Schanez) Lujan.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He married to Patricia Lujan and they have been married for 70 years. In 1948, he moved the family to Anaconda and worked at the smelter from 1948 to 1981 as a foreman.
You never saw one without the other. They were volunteers at the Metcalf Senior Center and you never saw him without a pool stick and teasing everyone and laughing. He was always working on something with his hands and helping around the house. He was everyone's handyman and he was a jack of all trades. He was loved by everyone he met. He had a personality that drew everyone to him.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Carol both of Anaconda, a brother Frank Maestas and a sister Marie Zargozas, a grandson Richard and 2 grandchildren Fisher and Violet and daughter-in-law Casey of Billings.
Preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael J. Lujan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church of Anaconda. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the church.
There will be military honors conducted by the Anaconda American Legion Post #21 and the Montana Honor Guard at New Hill Cemetery followed by a luncheon back at Holy Family Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to the Metcalf Memorial Senior Citizens Center, 115 E. Pennsylvania Ave, Anaconda, MT 59711.
