Michael Kuffner Obituary

Mike, commonly known as "Kuff", passed away on June 21, 2015 of possible heart failure. Mike was born to Joseph and Charlotte Kuffner on November 13, 1960 in Anaconda. Mike attended local schools and graduated from AHS with the class of 1979.

During his high school years, Mike worked for Leonard Dee with Dee Motors as a lot attendent, and at the time of his death, was the finance manager for the entire dealership. Besides the auto industry, Mike discovered he could have more fun working the plank at Carmels. Mike enjoyed his time bartending. It allowed him to spend time around lots of people, where he would always be telling stories and getting laughs from a group. Friends, family, and random acquaintances would often know his schedule, just to come in and say hi.

Mike was a man of many passions, ranging from the most intricate reef tanks and exotic fish, to the game of golf, where he could share his knowledge with family and friends. His enjoyment of the game would lead to the Chick Sanders 'Gimme Two' charity golf tournament at the Old Works golf course. Mike also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, often experimenting and making excellent meals for his friends and family. Mike's passions soon evolved to spending time on the lake with Vicki, most recenlty on their boat "Happy Ours", where they would often travel and enjoy the scenery around Gates of the Mountain. Mike relished at having the chance to take his nieces and nephews on the boat and challenged them to ride on the tube. He often won!

Mike married the love of his life on June 20, 1981. Mike and Vicki did everything together, sharing vacations in Mexico or Sedona, AZ to spending time at home or on the lake. Throughout the years, you could see the love that Mike had for Vicki and he would do anything for her. He truly did cherish every moment they had together.

Over the past four years, Mike was a caring and loving grandfather to Bryonna and Landon. Whether he was playing 'pool balls', giving them a 'donkey ride', or making fancy pizzas, he cherished his time with them.

Mike is survived by his mother Charlotte, his loving wife Vicki; Daughter and family Katie, Josh, Bryonna, and Landon in Missoula; Son Cory in Boise, ID; Brother Steve and Mary Lou in Anchorage, AK; Aunt Dollie Gilbert in Helena, and a wonderful network of extended family too numerous to mention.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Joseph Kuffner.

Mike was a great man with unlimited integrity. "Go Cowboys"
