Mel Poirier (Scarecrow), 75, of Anaconda, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Community Hospital of Anaconda.
Mel was born on March 25, 1941 to Glen and Stella (Bowen) Poirier in Seattle, Washington. Following his education, he served in the US Army and following his honorable discharge, he returned to the Seattle area where he was employed by the Seattle School District for a number of years. He moved to Anaconda in 2000.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends in his "man cave". He enjoyed his snowmobiles, four-wheelers and his car collection.
He is survived by his sister Maxine Ray.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Judy.
Funeral services will be held at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Full Military Honors will be conducted at the funeral home with the American Legion Post #21 and the Montana Honor Guard. Interment will be held in the Veteran's Section of the New Hill Cemetery.
