Karen Moats Obituary

Karen Jacobson Moats, passed away from pancreatic cancer, on January 6, 2017, at the Community Hospital of Anaconda.

Karen was born December 30, 1954, to Dr. Albert C. and Catherine E. (O'Brien) Jacobson in Missoula, MT. Karen attended St. Joseph's grade school, Anaconda Central High School and Montana State University.

Karen married Jesse J. Moats.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Dr. A.C. Jacobson and her husband Jesse J. Moats.

Karen is survived by her mother; Catherine Jacobson of Spokane Valley, WA. (Karen was not only her mother's daughter, she became her caregiver and friend, spending many months with her in Arizona), brother; Lawrence (Julie) Jacobson, devoted uncle; Donald O'Brien (Shirley Quinn).

Karen had numerous caring cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her cousin, Marcia Jacobson Papich, has been outstanding in her relationship and care of Karen. As a nurse, Marcia was able to be in contact with medical personnel that greatly assisted in arranging for Karen's care.

Karen was close to her husband's family; Barbara and Troy Betts, Carrie Bonney, Nathan and Don Moats.

Karen was truly blessed with incredible friends among whom are Nancy, Crystal, Summer and Ashley Kizer, Dotty Zimmerman, and neighbors Rich and Dawn Potvin. Close friends since childhood on Copper Road are Bill Dee (Dawn) and the Hagan family members including Charlene, Jan and Katie, all of whom comforted Karen in her final illness. The family knows she had many other great friends and regrets the inability to name all of them.

THANK YOU -- It's too little to say but it's heartfelt when expressing the gratitude for the exceptional care of Karen. We and she were blessed that she spent her last days at Anaconda Community Hospital. She had the absolute best medical care possible. We have to single out Dr. Nate Cook and Sheila Connell. Their conferences with the family and the very personal chats that Dr. Cook had with Karen preparing for her end of life were kind and compassionate. Each and every nurse, aide, caregiver and personnel person treated her needs in a loving fashion. THE FAMILY OF KAREN JACOBSON MOATS
