John Allick Obituary
Our father, John Allick was called to heaven on May 9, 2016, he passed peacefully at his home with his family by his side.
John was born December 27, 1932 in Belcourt, North Dakota to Albert and Mary (LaVallie) Allick. He met and married the love of his life Irene Bercier in Belcourt, his high school sweetheart. They married on June 10th, 1952 and moved to Anaconda, Montana, where John worked for the Anaconda Company for 30 years until it closed and then worked at Montana Resources from 1986 to 1997. He was called to duty on May 14, 1953; he served his country as a corporal in the United States Army in Korea for 2 years with an honorable discharge in May of 1955. They lived in Anaconda until 1968, when they moved to Opportunity where they raised their 8 children.
John was an avid outdoorsmen, he loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family and grandchildren. John was also a hand with horses; he loved breaking them for his children and grandchildren to ride. He especially loved haying season, cutting, bailing, and bucking every chance he got. In his later years with his lifelong friend Toby Crisler by his side, he continued to put up hay at 80 years old.
John was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mary (LaVallie) Allick, wife Irene (Bercier) Allick, son Gary Allick, daughter Barbara Liebman, sons-in-law Ernie Liebman, and Robert Johnston. Brothers, Albert, Morris and Paul. Sisters, Delia, Mary, Ida Jane, and Delma Allick
John is survived by his children Regina Allick, Debbie Johnston, Ramona Allick, Larris (Marla) Allick, Ivy (Doug) Staudohar, and Joe (Stacey) Allick, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Chapel on today (Thursday) beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial for John will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Anaconda.
Graveside services to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Garden with Military Honors by the Anaconda American Legion Post #21 and the Montana Honor Guard.
