Joan Scheett Obituary
Joan C. Scheett, 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4th, 2015 at the Community Hospital of Anaconda. She was born June 11, 1955 in Bowdle, South Dakota to Edmund and Bertha (Schock) Schumack. Joan was raised and educated in Aberdeen, South Dakota, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1973. She met Robert "Bob" Scheett Sr. in Aberdeen, South Dakota and they were later married in Mandan, ND. Joan was a stay at home Mom until she and Bob purchased a bakery in Mandan where she worked as a professional cake decorator until relocating to Miles City, Montana.
While living in Miles City, Joan's love of children led her to opening her own day care center which she operated for five years. Joan then worked for Town Pump for 22 years in many different capacities, until her retirement as Store Manager in 2009. After her retirement, she and Bob enjoyed traveling South during the winter and spending time together.
Joan's greatest pleasure came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling, working puzzles, boating, gardening, and taking care of Bob and their pets. The family always had fun during these outing especially when they turned into a Scheett Adventure.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Willard and Lloyd and by her son Robert "Bobby" Scheett II.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Bob of Anaconda, daughters; Stacy (Eric) Webb of Belgrade, Jennifer (Jeff) Thompson of North Platte, Nebraska, her brothers; Jerry (Peggy) Schumack, Kurt (Pam) Schumack and her grandsons; Dalton and Tristian Roscoe and Colton and Johnathon Thompson. Joan is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, with a special bond between her and nephew Joel (Rachel) Scheett of Anaconda.
A Celebration of Joan's life will be held on Thursday, August 13th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home Chapel.
