Jean Fairweather Obituary

Jean Marie Fairweather passed away on March 24, 2017 at the Deer Lodge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Deer Lodge.

Jean was born to Stephan Lane and Josephine Padjen Lane at home in Opportunity at the family home on August 13, 1925, the third child of six. She attended school in Anaconda.

Jean met and married William G. Fairweather on November 17, 1943 in Anaconda, Montana. They spent their entire married life in Anaconda. Jean was a housewife while raising the family and then became a School Bus Driver until She and Bill retired. She was also the secretary and bookkeeper for the family business until they sold the business.

Jean was a very active member of the Anaconda Eagles, Auxiliary #18 since 1950. She was a past president in 1962-1963, a past State President in 1975-1976, State Great Grandmother 2004-2007. She was also a Life Member and Past President of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion for 32 years, Life member of Eureka Chapter 16, Order of Eastern Star. She received the Shining Star Award 1998-1999. She was a member of Teamsters Union #2 and Charter member of the World War 11 Memorial Society. On June 17, 1995 was the 1st Lady Eagle from Anaconda and was inducted into the Montana State Eagles Auxiliary Hall of Fame. Jean was also a cancer survivor. Jean loved to bake and give her goodies to special friends. She was also an avid crafter making table decorations for every holiday and occasion for her many lodges and Hearthstone.

Jean is survived by her daughter Linda (David) Etzwiler of Homer, AK. And son William (Cynde) Fairweather of Milton, FL. Grandchildren, Pam Carlson, Rebecca Snyder (Bob), Kathleen (Mark) Peterson, Christopher (Krista) Etzwiler, Michael (Kesha) Etzwiler, Tonya Fairweather, and Lisa Fairweather. Great Grandchildren Brad W. Carlson, Casey S. Carlson, Andy and Kelsey Peterson, Elizabeth, Paige, and Jeanna Snyder, Koby and Ty Etzwiler, Aspen, Olivia, and Gabe Etzwiler. Brother Frank (Doris) Lane. Many nieces and nephews. Special Niece Karen Daniels. Special friends Eva Riddle, Sandy and Dick Wilson, and all my F.O. E. and Lodge friends through the State. Special adopted family David and Ranae Ris and family.
Jean was preceded in death by her late husband, Willian Fairweather, parents, Stephan and Josephine Lane, sisters, Julia Johnston, Ann Hinkle, Francis Zerkel, and daughter Maryjean Vasessen.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 30th at the Longfellow-Finnegan-Riddle Funeral Home Chapel. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the funeral home.
