Gilbert Forwood Obituary

Gilbert A. Forwood passed away January 29, 2016 at the age of 102. He was in the company of his friend and nephew Joe Mihelic and his other niece and nephew Timmy Forwood and Ed Schmidt.

Gil worked for Elmer Beninger milking cows. When WWII broke out, Gil joined the Army. He served in the infantry in the Pacific Theatre where he earned the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon with a Bronze Star. He also was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart.
After he was honorably discharged, Gil came home and went to work for the Anaconda Co. where he worked until he was 76 years old.
He married Mary Mihelic and they shared more than 50 years together. She died in 1998. They had no children.
Gil is survived by his nieces and nephews.
