Geneva M. Hout, passed away Sunday,November 17, 2019, after a lengthy illness. She was ninety-two years of age.
Born May 11, 1927 in Anaconda, Montana, the second of seven children of Guy and Myrtle Collins, Geneva spent her early years in Anaconda, then moved with her family to her grandparent's farm in Wyndmere, North Dakota. There she continued her schooling and helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters.
In August of 1944, she met the love of her life, Floyd Hout. They courted for two years and were married in Wyndmere on June 2, 1946. They made their home in Wyndmere, running the cafe at the hotel for a number of years. They then moved to San Fernando, California, and lived with family for a time them returned to Anaconda, where Floyd worked for Safeways, and Geneva made her niche working for various businesses, of which she most enjoyed working in retail clothing.
On September 20, 1966, Geneva realized her dream of becoming a mother, giving birth to her daughter, Jacqueline.
Geneva was a sixty-one-year member of Eureka Chapter #16, OES.
Geneva is survived by her daughter Jacqueline (Jackie), Jackie 's partner Lucas, grandson Zach, nieces and nephews Kathy, Lee (Lori), Dale, Tina, Joanie, Steve, Tina (Rick), Tanya, Kent, Judy. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers George, Dennis, and Ben, twin sisters Betty and Joan, Doris Ann, sister in law Evelyn, brother and sister in law Roy and Dorothy and son in law Erik Evans.
Services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Hope Lutheran Church in Anaconda at 11:00 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Anaconda.
