Butch Huot passed away peacefully in his home on March 19, 2018. He was born and passed in the town he loved, Anaconda Montana. He was the only child of parents Alfonse (Fan) and Marvalee Parker Huot.
Butch attended Anaconda High and graduated in 1960. He then enlisted in the US Army. In June of 1963 he wed his lifelong bride, Sharon Schmieding. In 1966 he enrolled at Western Montana College where he studied education and played football for the Bulldogs. He had success both on the field and in the classroom where he graduated with his degree in education. Shortly after he began his long career in education and coaching. His first job took him and his wife to Rathdrum, Idaho where he taught Industrial Arts and was the head wrestling coach and assistant football coach for the Hawks. While there, his two sons were born, Cory and Tony. Shortly after Tony's birth, Butch was offered a teaching job back in his home town of Anaconda where he educated and coached for thirty-three years until his retirement in 2002.
Barry was an avid hunter and fisherman who truly enjoyed the outdoors.
Barry dedicated his life to his family. He spent countless hours on the wrestling mat, in the gym and on the football field coaching and mentoring his two boys and countless players in Anaconda. Cory and Tony both attended Anaconda High and then on to college at Oregon State University where they played football for the Beavers. Both boys graduated with Pharmacy degrees and are currently active in the profession.
Later in life, Butch thoroughly enjoyed watching his four grandchildren play sports. He and Sharon would travel all over the state of Montana and Oregon watching their teams participate.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon and his sons, Cory and his two boys Ridge (12) and Ren (8) and Tony his wife Julie and their two children Taylor (17), Kaden (14).
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers are suggested to be directed to the Anaconda Athletic Scholarship fund.
