Anna McCoy Obituary

Anna Mae was born in Anaconda to Michael and Annie Sheehan, the 3rd of 5 children. She passed away peacefully in Missoula one day before her 89th birthday.

A 1944, graduate of Anaconda High School, she was an usherette at the Washoe Theatre and worked at the Daly Bank before she was married.

She and Jack McCoy were married August 14, 1948, in Anaconda and moved their family to Philipsburg in the 1950s. She and Jack traveled many miles on back roads to Jack's mining projects and on family outings. They enjoyed taking walks together. They were devoted to each other and celebrated almost 60 years of marriage.

Family members preceding her in death were her husband, Jack (in 2008) and her older brothers Neil and John.

Love of family and a deep faith in God describe her life, with a priority of preparing a nice dinner when family arrived whatever the occasion. An interest in later life was keeping track of world affairs and local happenings.

She is survived by her son Ed McCoy (Kay), daughter Mary Jo Hamling (Jim) and daughter, Sharon McCoy, grandchildren Melissa Hoover (Danny), Joe McCoy, and Michael Hamling. Other survivors include her sister Rita Allen, brother Joe Sheehan (Rose Mary), sister-in-law and brother-in-law JoAnn and Bob Berna and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Church in Philipsburg, with burial following in the city cemetery.

Memorials in Anna's name can be made to Granite County Medical Foundation, P.O. Box 401, Philipsburg, MT 59858 or St. Philip Neri Parish, Box 329, Drummond, MT 59832.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the home care and medical staff members who took excellent care of her, granting her wish of remaining in the comfort of her home.
Although tiny in stature, she had a very big heart.
