Alice Shepka went to see the Lord and Savior on January 10th, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Anaconda. Alice was born to Eva and Carl Shepka on March 21, 1925 in Anaconda. She was educated in Anaconda and graduated from high school in Anaconda. At the early age of 13, Alice started her working career. She always had a job and helped others as she could. Growing up during the depression made a big impact on her. We take pride for the fact that she was a single women growing up in a man's world. For many years she was the business agent for the Cooks and Waiters union and was always fighting for the rights of the workers. Upon retirement she fine-tuned the art of garage sales. Alice had an eye for spotting a five cent item that she knew was worth twenty dollars. Antique linens and flower vases were her favorites!
Alice is preceded in death by her mother and father Eva and Carl, and brother Carl Jr who passed at the age of 13.
She is survived by her sister Dorothy Driggs and niece and caregiver Alice (Howie) Cortright. Great nephew Eric and wife Dina, whom she affectionately called number 2 in command. Great niece Lisa and Fiancé David. Other survivors are nephews Earl Driggs, Bob and Rae Driggs, niece Patty Lombardi and Chris. Kevin and Li Lombardi, Randy Lombardi, Chris Lombardi, Scott and Kelly Driggs, Shawn Driggs, Laura and Tim Pomeroy and Janell and Doug Allen. Also Robby and Evonne and numerous children of her great nieces and nephews.
Because of her love for her two dogs Toby and Muff, she wishes that memorials are to be made to Pintler Pets, PO Box 1204, Anaconda, MT 59711, as gift for the animals.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the mass.
