Albena Preskar Obituary
Albena Preskar, better known to her family as Babe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2015, in the home in which she was born. The youngest of six children born to Yugoslavian immigrants Frank and Frances Preskar. Babe was born on July 21, 1927, in Opportunity. She along with her siblings Frank, Stanley, Rudy, Margie and Rose, were raised in a two bedroom home on a small plot of land.
Babe attended local schools and worked for local dentists Graney and Beal before venturing out to Warm Springs to work where she retired. Never one to sit still for long, Babe found time for her weekly hair appointments, to work in her flower garden, meet friends for lunch or just a cup of coffee and join various social groups. She attended church every Sunday and had breakfast afterwards with a sometimes small, sometimes large, group of friends. All this socializing allowed her to inform the family of all that was taking place around town at Monday night dinners.
Babe is survived by nieces and nephews Merrilyn and Ron Marker, Nancy and Dan Stratford, Carole Preskar, Judy and Ron Curtis, Jerry Merro, Ray and Leann Rouse and John and Carmen Rouse and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Babe was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and nephew Stanley Preskar.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015, at the St. Peter's Catholic Church, Anaconda. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the Anaconda Pintler Hospice at 118 East 7th Street Suite A, Anaconda, MT 59711 or to the Anaconda Catholic Community at 217 West Pennsylvania St, Anaconda, MT 59711.
