James "Jim" Richard Sturm

James (Jim) Richard Sturm passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on May 20, 1953, in Anaconda, MT, to Jerry and Dorothy Sturm, Jim was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown (where he enjoyed his constant visits with his family and friends). He married his love Tammy (Kish) Sturm on May 11, 1991, and their union was later blessed by the Catholic Church on March 23, 2002.

Jim retired from the Department of Transportation after over 30 years of dedicated service. Outside of work, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Jim was also an active member of the Anaconda Catholic Community.

Jim is preceded in death by his son Greg Sturm, his parents Jerry & Dorothy Sturm,  sister Kathy Sturm, in-laws Mildred & Walter Struble and James Kish, and niece & nephew Tina  and Kris Kish.

Jim is survived by his wife, Tammy Sturm; son, Brandon Sturm, brothers and sisters: Ron, (Gloria) Sturm, Bob (Bernie) Sturm, Larry (Trudy) Sturm, Janet Box, Donna (Cal) Kostelecky, John (Vicky) Sturm, in laws Linda (Tom) Beckett, Jim (Millie) Kish and numerous nieces, nephews, and several close friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Kenny Cook Memorial Scholarship or the charity of your choice.

Funeral Mass for Jim will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 217 W. Pennsylvania Street, Anaconda, MT. A one-hour visitation will take place prior to Mass, starting at 9:30 a.m. Following the funeral Mass, a graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, W. 5th Street, Anaconda, MT. A luncheon will follow in the Hunthausen Center of Holy Family Catholic Church.
