William Paul Vauthier passed away on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2017. He was born on July 4th, 1925 at Georgetown Lake to Marie and Gustave Vauthier.
Bill attended school at Beaver Dam and graduated from Anaconda High School. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and trained as a gunner on the B29 Super Fortress for two years.
After the service, Bill returned to Anaconda and married the love of his life, Lucille Sturdevant.
In 1947 Bill served a four-year apprenticeship as a carpenter on the smelter before moving to Renton, WA in 1951 where he was a foreman for PacCar, who builds Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, for 30 plus years.
Upon retiring, Bill and Lucille moved to Missoula for 10 years before returning to Anaconda. He lost the love of his life after 62 years of marriage in 2009.
Bill was an excellent carpenter and liked working in the yard. He loved country music and spending time with family and friends and was always willing to help out whenever he could.
Bill is survived by his daughters Carol (Rick) Stevenson and De Anna (Randy) Lee, grandchildren Chelsey and Jesse Lee, Mindy Kim and Quinn Stevenson and two great grandchildren Aiden Stevenson and Ethan Kim. He is also survived by his sister Rose White and brother Andy Vauthier along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life Services for William P. Vauthier will be held on Sunday, Februry19th at 4:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Anaconda. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services.
